Opening remarks and agenda
Welcomed shareholders in person and online at the Annual General Meeting on 7 May 2026, confirming quorum and outlining the agenda, including board and executive introductions, financial and management reviews, and voting procedures.
Financial performance review
Achieved record group sales of NZD 798.8 million for 2025/26, up 0.93% year-on-year, with homeware up 1.4% and sporting goods up 0.06%.
Net profit after tax was NZD 59.2 million, slightly down from NZD 60.6 million, reflecting resilience amid challenging conditions.
Gross margin declined to 39.2%, down 114 basis points, with 1st half at 42.97% and 2nd half at 38.07%, but margin pressure eased in the second half.
Cash and bank balances at year-end were NZD 130.3 million, with no drawn term debt; inventory reduced by NZD 9 million to NZD 90.8 million, supporting margin and cash flow.
Sales growth varied by quarter, with Q4 showing a 4.58% increase.
Dividend announcements
Declared a fully imputed interim dividend of NZD 0.10 per share and a final dividend of NZD 0.10 per share, totaling NZD 0.20 per share, consistent with the prior year.
