Quartr Launches Two New App Features to Transform Investment Discovery and Storytelling
Explore helps investors find public companies through custom-made playlist recommendations, while the Embedded Player enables earnings calls to be inserted into articles online.
APRIL 2022. Quartr, the app that gives investors easy on-the-go access to company information, has launched two new features to transform how investors find new stocks, and how earnings calls are embedded into online articles, blog posts and websites.
Both features have been launched on the free-to-use app, available on both iOS and Android.
Explore: Investment Inspiration
Quartr’s new Explore page is a research tool that gives investors a brand new way to discover stocks and public companies.
Much like how they might find new music, Quartr users can now find investment inspiration through playlists available on the app’s Explore page. Lists of stocks are curated based on: which companies the user ‘follows’ on the app, which company investor presentations they have recently listened to or read, and also current investment trends and featured recommendations.
Themed lists - which are updated and shuffled with new trends and themes - include the likes of “Best in Class Metrics”, ‘This Quarter’s Most Listened to Earnings Calls’, stocks highlighted or owned by famous investors, and companies relevant to a particular location or trend, such as ‘The Metaverse’ or ‘Deep Moats’.
Until now, the process of buying stocks has been easier than the process of researching them. Quartr is on a mission to change this, in part by transforming the initial discovery and exploration stages of investment. This new functionality for recommending stocks to investors corresponds with the way that people today discover new ideas, while also providing a qualitative way of making investment decisions and finding new opportunities.
Embedded Player: Inserting Earnings Calls to Enhance Financial Storytelling
Quartr is also debuting its Embedded Player, which marks a new way to easily include conference calls into any online article or blog post, designed to make listening to earnings calls more social, bite-sized and shareable.
Until now, the audio from conference calls has been largely excluded from financial media and storytelling, despite their crucial importance in informing investment decisions.
Now, when anyone wants to refer to specific earnings calls in an article or blog post, they can click ‘embed event’ on the Quartr app, choose to create a specific clip or embed the entire event, and copy and paste the code into any HTML website which will then be embedded within the article. If a call has been clipped, there is also an option for users to click ‘go to the full event’ to listen to it in its entirety.
By rolling out this integration, Quartr is making earnings calls more accessible and inclusive for financial media.
Quartr CEO and Co-founder Sami Osman comments:
“At Quartr, we know that having investment resources ‘available’ and ‘accessible’ are two very different things. That’s why we’re on a mission to empower investors to make smarter decisions with easy access to company information. Our new Explore page gives investors a new, engaging and interactive way to find and explore companies, beyond the hard, quantitative metrics that exist today. As for the Embedded Player, we believe that this feature will enhance financial storytelling by allowing writers to refer to specific moments in company earnings calls, bringing colour and life to financial media in a way that until now has been missing.”
Quartr: Transforming Investor Relations
Headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, Quartr is an app that gives anyone, regardless of their investment expertise and network, access to critical company information (such as earnings calls), helping them to make better investment decisions.
Going into the free-to-use Quartr app today, anyone can listen to earnings calls from Apple, Alphabet, Meta, Tesla, and all other publicly listed companies. Users can skip to the most important sections, leave reactions, and also access PDFs, transcripts, presentation slide decks, and reports.
Until now, access to this information, which plays a crucial role in investment decision making, has been difficult and expensive to obtain for ordinary investors. For example, antiquated and clunky conference call software is often used, information is scattered across (and sometimes hidden) on hundreds of different websites, while desktop information terminals that have become industry standard cost upward of $15,000 per year.
Quartr, which was founded just over a year ago, employs a team of 35 people, recently raised $4.5M, and has already over 750,000 played events from more than 7,000 companies across more than 16 markets and growing on their free-to-use app.
